snacks
Snacks are the bane of many a parents existence - me included!! I always encourage families aim, where possible, to offer balanced snacks - a combination of carbohydrate and protein or fat. Many snacks are rich in carbohydrates, but lack the protein and fat, which can lead to little ones becoming prematurely hungry prior to the next meal, leading to grazing and derailment of meal times! So, below are snacks that I like, but often require an addition to make balanced. Check out the ‘Building a Balanced Snack + Ideas’ resource for more information. The recipe hub also contains some great home made options for snacks.
