dairy products + alternatives
When purchasing dairy products, its important to opt for full fat options until your little one is at least 2 years of age. When looking at dairy free alternatives, the options are unfortunately slim, however, when looking at whats available, try to aim for full fat, calcium fortified, no added sugar and few ingredients (ticking all these boxes may be tricky!). When using plant based milks, aim for calcium fortified and I recommend oat or soy milk over nut milks as they tend to offer more nutritionally, however, if your little ones diet is otherwise really nutrient dense, nut milks matter less.
