I have previously done a review on the Rafferty’s Garden stack bars and was really disappointed with the nutritional quality of the product. It was loaded with sugar, and contained trans fats. So, following this review, I went into the supermarket to see if I could find an alternative and was once again, pretty disappointed with the options (or lack there of).
A few weeks later, a client sent me a photo of this product to ask if it was suitable for her little one and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality! These bars are super convenient and a great snack for when out and about. Most notably, whilst they are high in sugar, it is from the fruit in the bar, not any added sugar. It also contains minimal ingredients which is brilliant, lots of dietary fibre and are high in fat. They come in two flavors (strawberry + apple and banana + raisin) and are free from the top 9 allergens.
So, if you’re looking for a good on the go snack these are a great option!
If we refer back to the article on how to read a nutrition label, we can make the following analysis:
Ingredients - there is no added sugar, which I love and minimal ingredients!
Fat - 16g per 100g —> great
Sugar - 28 per 100g —> high (but is from natural sources)
Sodium - 12mg per 100g —> moderate
